Cindy Tegtmeyer

Cindy Tegtmeyer is thrilled to be melding her quirky talents with her badass fellow Queen, Dezi! Cindy is a proud Broad, professional actress and voice over artist, leads ghost walks as Miss Sadie with The Haunted Galena Tour Company and was a clown with Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus. You may remember her performances at The Galena Center for the Arts in the play 2 Across or last year’s production of The Vagina Monologues. Cindy’s other roles in the community are serving as Alderperson on the Galena City Council and as the Food Security and Farm to Food Pantry Coordinator with JDLF Collective. Her hands-down favorite role ever is as “Macklan’s Mom”, and she thanks him for dealing with all of the above. Fun Facts/One Falsehood*: Cindy has traveled to 41 of the 50 states, jumped out of an airplane, has one (or more) tattoos, lived in London, speaks only one language, has a dog named after one of the seven dwarfs.

Desiree Irwin

Desiree Irwin has spent much of her life blending music, comedy, and improvisation. She performed as both an actress and musical director in Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding and appeared with the Nude Coffee improv troupe at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. After years behind the pianos as a dueling-piano entertainer, Desiree has mastered the art of combining music, comedy, audience interaction, and spontaneous fun. With just a little prompting, she can even write a song on the spot!

Desiree believes we should never stop playing. There is always a time and place to be wonderfully childlike—and a Queens of Quirk show is definitely one of them. She feels incredibly lucky to share the stage, the laughter, and all the delightful quirkiness with her partner, Cindy.
