Desiree Irwin is a well-known pianist/entertainer based in Chicago, Illinois. Born in Alberta, Canada, Desiree moved to Chicago after landing a position playing keyboards for Buddy Guy. She toured Europe, Canada and the United States, sharing the bill with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Etta James and other blues greats. With Buddy Guy's band she appeared on television shows such as Much Music (Canada), Good Morning America, Sudwest Funk (the German version of Soul Train), and was included in an article about Buddy in Rolling Stone Magazine.
Since her years in Buddy's band, Desiree has gained extensive experience and success in many facets of the music industry. She became Musical Director of "Tony and Tina's Wedding" (Chicago's longest running comedy), managed a professional recording studio (Island Recorders), owned and operated her own wedding/corporate party band, and toured with Frankie Avalon. Desiree has established herself as one of Chicago's most in-demand pianist-entertainers, supplementing her professional experience in a wide array of other bands, piano bars, and recording projects. Her seven years of experience as a dueling piano player led her to becoming a partner in Chicago Dueling Pianos. In addition to near-constant performing, Desiree remains active in booking other entertainers for professional opportunities.
Desiree is also a songwriter and recording artist, and has released 2 albums of original music. You can catch her at her "day" job in many of Chicago's best piano bars, or traveling the world with "Howl at The Moon" on Norwegian Cruise Lines.
